I hope this email finds you doing OK. These are hard times for many of us who rely on special education, disability, and aging adult services, as well as for those who work for the federal government. My husband has been furloughed for a few weeks now. Hopefully, this government shutdown will end soon!
As a reminder, you are receiving this email because you either attended one of my presentations, signed up for a free resource or my email newsletter, or perhaps we’ve had a free 15-minute consultation or an online collaborative tech brainstorming session to help you or someone you know leverage the benefits of technology.
💚 For me, the past couple of weeks have been a time of reflection and family connection. My mother-in-law, Lilli Green, passed away on October 15th at the age of 99. For those of you who have known me for a while, you may recall that she was instrumental in helping us raise our four children — always eager to lend a hand. We helped her relocate to Maryland shortly after we moved here from Cleveland in 1993.
Lilli was a Holocaust survivor.
Technology was instrumental in helping us stay in touch daily as she aged and memory loss set in. Her two children called at certain times each day on the GrandPad or Echo Show to “drop in” for a video call to check in and catch up on the day. We all miss her.
I paused my practice briefly, and now I’m catching up and looking ahead with renewed gratitude, energy, and focus.
